The ASID MN Student Scholarship
Award: $1000 to each participating college
Fall: Alexandria Technical College, Century College, and Dakota County Technical College
Spring: Dunwoody, North Dakota State University, South Dakota State University and the University of Minnesota
Eligibility
Any student who has completed at least one year of undergraduate study enrolled in a two year accredited participating programs (Fall) or three years of study at a four year participating accredited program (Spring) of interior design is eligible. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic accomplishment, creative achievement and volunteer involvement in the college design community. Project evaluation is based on presentation skills, design and planning competency and conceptual creativity. Residential and commercial projects are eligible. Group projects with multiple student designers are not eligible.
Application Requirements:
-Personal Essay (1000 word maximum):
The American Society of Interior Designers believes that Design Impacts Lives in ways that can positively transform environments to improve the human experience. As an interior designer, how will you embrace and advance the professional trend to positively impact health and well-being in your anticipated area of design practice?
-Academic Accomplishment (transcript)
-Letter of Recommendation (from instructor or faculty member)
-Design Project –submit digitally to ASID MN office
-Headshot
-ASID Student Member preferred but not required.
Winners will be selected by the Interior Design Department Faculty Head from each college, according to the above criteria and submitted to ASID MN office. Each $1000 Award will be applied towards the following semester tuition. Winners will be recognized as the scholarship recipient at the annual Student Affairs Day in October held at International Market Square.
